5 cups red tomatoes, cut into quarters ¾ cup finely chopped onion 2 finely chopped cloves of garlic 3 cloves 1 stick cinnamon ½ cup sugar ½ cup chilli powder ½ tsp salt ½ cup vinegar 1 tsp cayenne pepper to taste ½ tsp sodium benzoate
Steps to make ketchup
1. Combine tomatoes, onion, garlic, garlic, and cinnamon 2. Pressure cook the mixture for 3 whistles 3. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid 4. Remove cloves and cinnamon stick 5. Cool the mixture and blend it until it becomes smooth 6. Strain the mixture using a thin strainer 7. Transfer the mixture in a thick bottom pan 8. Add sugar, salt, chilli powder, vinegar, and cayenne pepper. Mix well and cook for 30 minutes on medium flame. Stirring occasionally. 9. Cool completely. When the mixture is cooled add sodium benzoate, mix well, your homemade ketchup is ready. Now you can fill it in an airtight container. Store the ketchup in the refrigerator.
